Get Involved / Volunteer
Make a difference in the lives of children in our community who need us the most by volunteering your time and/or expertise. See below for ongoing volunteer opportunities. You may also check-out our seasonal volunteer opportunities at our Volunteer Match Profile.
Spend one hour a week helping a child with their academic work. We will pair you with a youth based on your availability, grade level & subject interest.
Drop-In Homework Help
Provide assistance to students as needed. This could be help with homework, studying for a test, or just reading a book together. Homework Club is open to 6th-12th graders and is held every Wednesday 3:00-4:30 December – June at our new Rockwood location. Sign up here.
We need reliable help with administrative work. Helping for a few hours with various office tasks means we are able to save time and money that can go to our children.
Facilitating an Activity
Support our efforts by sharing a skill or passion with a group of youth. Past activities include: woodworking, slam poetry, Jazzercise, sewing, music, film discussion, etc.
Friends Outreach Team
Would you like to spread the word about Friends of the Children while developing your outreach skills? We are looking for passionate individuals to join our outreach team. Opportunities could include making presentations to corporate and civic groups or representing Friends of the Children at volunteer or nonprofit fairs.
