Ki'ilani was born and raised in O'ahu, Hawaii. She graduated from Eastern Washington University with a BS in applied developmental psychology and minors in psychology and special education. She has a Masters in Education in school counseling from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Ki has been at Friends of the Children—Portland for 11 1/2 years and appreciates the longevity of the commitment made to the youth served. She also appreciates the inclusive work environment - the open, welcoming community FriendsPDX has that encourages folks to be who they are and appreciates each unique person. Additionally, she appreciates the relationships made with the youth, their families, and co-workers. Outside of FriendsPDX, she plays with her dog, Keona, takes pictures out in the community, creates artwork, is in nature, does community service activities and spends time with her niece and nephew.
