Meet Chooky

Meet Chooky, a Friend at FriendsPDX.

Hey, y'all! I’m a Black and Mexican queer person of color! Growing up my brother was served by FriendsPDX for 12+ years and I was part of the Big Brother Big Sister program. I have eight siblings, one sister and seven brothers! I love to read and pet/play with my cat named Leo. Crafting with my Cricut and making t-shirts are hobbies of mine. I also love to knit! You can find me in the art room doing lots of crafty things from making keychains to coloring. I’m very proud of my identity and I love being a part of my communities!

February is Black History Month. FriendsPDX fully acknowledges that Black history is more than a month. Within our program, we have year-round cultural activities and programming for the FriendsPDX community to embrace, learn, and love their identity.
