Corporate partnerships are an essential part of the ongoing success and growth of Friends of the Children—Portland. This platform for engagement allows local and national companies to align themselves with a unique and trusted nonprofit. Partnerships provide additional exposure to the critical work we do and an opportunity for corporate employees to make a difference in the community they live in. Corporate partnerships activate the process of permanent, positive change in our community by generously supporting our research-based model for youth mentoring.
Come join us in changing the world – one child at a time.
Our foundation partners play a critical role in the mission of Friends of the Children—Portland through their investments in sustaining and growing our model. Funding from foundations ensures our evidence-based model thrives by supporting new initiatives informed by systemic inequities that disproportionately impact our youth and families. Our innovations in youth-led programming, partnerships with local schools and the child welfare system, and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion would not be possible without the foundations who walk alongside us. We thank our foundation partners for supporting our model and the dreams of the youth we serve.
Our professional mentors, known as Friends, work as advocates to help youth we work with access a wide variety of community resources. Program youth work with hundreds of organizations in the community.
Child Selection Partners
We serve 500 children and youth in over 120 schools in five counties throughout the Portland Metropolitan area. We begin by selecting children at the kindergarten level at three local elementary schools and directly from the foster care system in partnership with the Department of Human Services. Many of the children served by FriendsPDX move and we remain committed to each child within a 30-mile radius of Portland.
