Staff: Amanda Hiland

Amanda grew up around the Portland area and studied Special Education at Portland State University. After years of teaching, she was drawn to Friends PDX due to their focus on nurturing long-term, generative relationships with youth and families.

A mentor and writer by day, she is also a major astronomy enthusiast at night. She spends her free time folding origami, chasing her cat, and trying to make the world a kinder place. She is on an eternal mission to find the best chai latte in the world!
