Staff: Derek Slagle

Derek is originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana and attended Antioch College in Ohio, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Japanese. After college, he taught English at junior high and private English schools in Japan and also traveled throughout Europe and Asia. He moved to Portland in 2009, eventually began taking accounting classes at PSU, and has worked in non-profit accounting for almost ten years. Lately, most of Derek’s free time is spent running around with his two young kids, and he also loves music and reading (and spends more of his money on books and records than he probably should).
