Rock was born in Philly, a proud city at the foundation of democracy and die-hard sports fans. Rock volunteered for two years in Colorado through Americorps where he met his lovely wife. He camped out for a grad semester, wrote a thesis on Power of Play in Education, and has a master’s in education from Goddard College in Vermont. Rock loves being a part of Friends of Children because of the value of being a long-term mentor in the lives of youth towards helping them fully thrive. Outside of Friends of the Children – Portland, Rock appreciates living in the woods near Mount Hood between two rivers where he can hike, bike, kayak, cross country ski, snowboard, garden, and just being with family.
