Amy Knauer Named Chief Financial and Operations Officer

Amy Knauer has joined the leadership team of Friends of the Children–Portland as the Chief Financial and Operations Officer. Knauer will lead the Finance, Operations and Human Resource departments of the founding chapter of a national nonprofit that has taken mentoring out of the volunteer realm and commits to mentoring youth with a salaried, professional mentor for 12+ years, no matter what.

Amy is a native of Indianapolis, IN, and graduate of Ball State University with a bachelor degree in organizational communications. She brings extensive experience in operational and financial leadership, building and coaching strong teams, and creating sustainable strategic plans. As the fourth employee hired at First Person Advisors in Indianapolis in 2001, Amy was instrumental in accelerating the growth of the organization with responsibility in finance, HR, office management and customer delivery. Amy moved to Portland in 2010 and has held leadership positions at LifeMap and The Standard. Amy was most recently serving her former employer, FirstPerson, as their Chief Operating Officer.
