East County Program Site Grand Opening

Your vision becomes a reality.

Countless hours of planning and strategy came together on January 21, 2016, as we officially opened the doors to our brand new facility in the city of Gresham, Ore. Our guests were treated to a first-hand view of how this state-of-the-art facility will serve our youth and their professional mentors. From 'Mad Scientist' experiments provided by our friends from the Vital Life Foundation to a muffin-making demonstration from representatives from the National College of Natural Medicine, those that attended witnessed how this site will be used by our program staff and the youth that will walk through the doors.

Adding to the excitement was a special appearance from our friend Al Farouq Aminu of the Portland Trail Blazers as well as Blaze the Trail Cat, their official mascot! Al Farouq, who also helped hand out Thanksgiving meals in November, came by and shot hoops with our youth and even participated in a game of knockout. KGW was also on hand as Cassidy Quinn interviewed our Executive Director, Megan Lewis and one of our youth and their Friend.
