Staff: Alvin Ma

Alvin was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. He began his career at the Oregon Zoo, first as a ZooTeen volunteer then as a summer camp counselor. He transitioned to advocacy and youth development nonprofits, working to recruit and onboard great people for great causes.

Alvin greatly appreciates Friends of the Children’s model – it is awe inspiring to know each child receives 12+ years of mentorship as they grow up, and it is similarly heartening to know the mentors receive professional training and support to deliver upon Friends of the Children’s mission.

In his spare time, Alvin enjoys lifting weights and cooking. He also listens to a lot of audiobooks and is probably in the middle of a sci-fi or history book right now.
