December 10, 2020 We Are Honored to Be the PBJ #1 Most Admired Nonprofit in 2020! We are so honored to have been voted The Portland Business Journal’s 2020 #1 Most Admired Nonprofit in Oregon again this year. When COVID-19 changed everything in March, the “no matter what” part of the organization’s mission took on new meaning. “The reality is that the youth we serve, along with their caregivers, have lived with the uncertainty of pandemic-like conditions—economic insecurity, food insecurity, health disparities, fear, and inequitable treatment—for generations due to systemic barriers and inequities,” Portland’s Executive Director, Traci Rossi said. We are grateful for our community of friends and supporters who stand with us in this mission and truly reflect a No Matter What commitment! This year, our greatest accomplishment is consistently seeing our youth create positive opportunities for themselves as measured by our three long term outcomes: 83% of program youth receive their high school diploma or GED93% remain free from involvement in the juvenile justice system98% wait to parent until after their teen years Thank you to all those business leaders who selected Friends of the Children-Portland for this honor, and congratulations to this year’s Portland Business Journal Most Admired organizations, especially our fellow nonprofits who share our No Matter What commitment!
