Daryl Armstrong-Romero and his pronouns are he/him/his. He's originally from Denver, Colorado. His family relocated to Portland in January 2023. He obtained his bachelors in criminal justice from Colorado State University Global in 2021. Prior to getting his degree he worked as a supervisor of a group home for troubled teens. Daryl's original goal for his degree was either law enforcement or law school. But when he really thought about it, his true passion was working with children and families. So, for the past two years, he's worked in child welfare as a caseworker both here in Portland and back in Colorado.
Daryl truly appreciates the commitment the organization has to children. Working as a caseworker and during his time at the group home he saw so many people come and go. The commitment to longevity really made FriendsPDX stand out.
Daryl's wife and kids are the roots of his joy. He's a father of four – a 13 year-old, 3 year old twins, and a 2 year old. He maintains his energy (and sanity) by exercising regularly. Fitness is a huge passion of his and the gym is his happy place. Daryl is also a huge sports fan Nuggets and the Broncos are his two favorite teams.
