Matthew is a native of the Northwest, having been born in Portland and grown up in Vancouver. He holds more than 20 years of HR experience across multiple industries and types of organizations, including about 15 years of HR leadership in youth-serving non-profits in the Portland area. FriendsPDX’s model of generational change through the power of interpersonal relationships “spoke deeply to [him] and [his] values, and that same commitment to supportive, empathetic, and durable relationships is how we can best support one another and our teams to have a positive, rewarding, and meaningful experiences at work.” Warner holds an undergraduate degree from Thomas Edison State College, and MBA in Management and Strategy from Western Governors University. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the HR Certification Institute, a SHRM-Senior Certified Professional by the Society for Human Resources Management, and a Certified Compensation Professional by World at Work. He is a past President of Southwest Washington SHRM and a past recipient of the Northwest Human Resources Management Association (NHRMA) Distinguished Member Award and the Vancouver (Wash.) Business Journal’s Accomplished and Under 40 award. He and his husband live in Camas, Washington.
